The Pantanal is the size of Pennsylvania and is located in the following three countries: Brazil, Bolivia, and Paraguay. Eighty percent of the Pantanal is located in the Brazilian states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul.
It is the largest wetlands area in the world, and therefore it contains a wealth of animal and plant life.
Over the last two centuries, cattle ranching has been one of the most important businesses for the area.
